National 5 Maths privacy policy
How EwanX handles information in the National 5 Maths app. In short: there are no accounts, no ads, and nothing that identifies you.
What we collect
National 5 Maths never asks for your name, email address, phone number or location, and there is no way for us to tell who you are. Your progress, exam scores and settings are stored only on your device and are deleted along with the app.
The app does send anonymous usage data. A random identifier is generated on your device the first time you open it — not taken from your Apple ID or any advertising identifier — and alongside it we record which topics you practise, how many questions you answer, how you score on practice exams and speed drills, and which screens you open, plus basic technical details like the app and iOS version. Nothing you type, nothing about your device's contents, and nothing from anywhere else.
There is no advertising in National 5 Maths, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who we share it with
- PostHog receives the anonymous usage data above, stored in the European Union — privacy policy
Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details, billing address or Apple ID, and whether you have bought Premium is checked with Apple directly rather than through anyone else.
Notifications
If you allow them, National 5 Maths sends occasional reminders to revise. They are written and scheduled on your device, so nothing about them passes through a server. Turn them off in the app's settings or in Settings › Notifications.
Younger users
National 5 Maths is built for students preparing for the National 5 exam, so many of the people using it are under 18. That is a reason we collect as little as possible rather than a reason to collect more: nothing the app records identifies anyone, so we hold no personal information about any user, whatever their age.
Deleting your data
Delete the app and the anonymous identifier goes with everything stored on your device. Reinstalling creates a new one that isn't connected to the old — which also means your progress does not carry over, as nothing is backed up to us or to iCloud.
We can't look up or delete your usage data on request, because nothing marks which of it is yours. Deleting the app is the complete way to stop any further collection.
